If you have a vintage dresser with broken or malfunctioning drawers an easy way to fix it up is to upgrade it with some metal drawer slides. Generally these slides are mounted vertically (they are stronger that way) but in some instances there is only space to mount them under the drawers (still easily supports 30lbs+). On this mid-century dresser there was only about .25 inches on either side of the drawer, only half the needed space for the .5 inch thick slides. Every dresser is different, in this how-to I will show you some possible strategies for making your old dresser like-new!
